A convertible bag changes how you carry it without changing bags. Ukoala's original U-shaped strap re-routes into up to 8 wear styles, drop leg, hip bag, cross body, backpack, under arm harness, front carry, shoulder, and sling, with no tools or extra parts. Core models do all eight; lighter styles do two to four.
01
The fewer loose parts you need to switch styles, the more often you will actually switch.
Ukoala: One U-shaped main strap plus a slimmer leg strap. Re-route them and clip the quick-release buckles.
02
Check the product's own list of wear styles, not a marketing number.
Ukoala: The Phoenix, Yeti, Yukon, Black Ops, and 2 Faces do all 8 styles; each product page lists its styles in Quick facts.
03
Clear instructions for every mode, not just the first one.
Ukoala: The wear guide has short step-by-step videos for each configuration, starting with a Straps Quick Start.
04
A convertible bag should work for how you reach.
Ukoala: Flip the buckle side of the strap to the front to wear it on your left instead of your right.
05
Cross-body and backpack modes need more strap length than hip carry.
Ukoala: Size by height (Compact, Standard, Expanded); the Waist Belt Extension adds length for cross-body and backpack wear.
06
Pick a material for where you will wear it most.
Ukoala: Water-resistant 1060D nylon, renewable waxed canvas, heavy-duty 1080 Denier, or vintage cotton canvas.
Every Ukoala starts from the same original U-shaped strap system. Your bag comes with two detachable straps: a wider main strap that clips on at the top as your waist or shoulder strap, and a slimmer leg strap that clips on at the bottom.
Re-route those two straps with the quick-release buckles and the same bag moves between wear styles, no tools and no extra parts. Learn it once and every mode follows.
